This semi-sweet and oxidative wine from the Grand Cru Kaefferkopf was aged on fine lees in large wooden vats and old barrels for 42 months without being topped up. The delicate and subtle bouquet has an ethereal base that is smoothed by hazelnut and plant aromas that are reminiscent of aromatic herbs and dark tobacco. The light and smooth mouthfeel are well-balanced with acidity, providing complexity and depth that leads to a dry finish and a lingering aftertaste of candied fruits, nuts, and wood. With only 18mg/L of sugar, this wine displays its complexity without being overpowering.
