Hautes Côtes de Beaune "Sur Evelle" 2018
Region: Hautes Côtes de Beaune, France
Grape: Pinot Noir
Style: Deep and complex
Quite classy with aromas of ripe fruit, candied cherries. The palate is greedy, velvety, ample on ripe fruits as well, prolonged by damp earth and cocoa.
This appellation area has the characteristic of being at altitudes higher than those of the Côte de Beaune.
The Domaine's plot is located just above the hamlet of Évelle, steeply sloping from 440 meters to 490 meters and is dominated by a small wood then a cliff 50 meters high.
The soil is clay-chalk based with stones intermixed and faces southeast.
These grapes are hand-harvested.
The fermentation lasts for 12 months in 228L oak casks.
