5 Bites / 5 Wines Oct 2021

You missed the Partner in Wine 5 Bites / 5 Wines of October 2021, or just like to relive it again. Here is the selection of October's edition.

Palmento Rosso 2020, Vino di Anna

    Region: Etna Sicilia, Italy

Grapes: Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Alicante

    Style: Fruity and juicy red

Vibrant ruby red in colour, this wine has attractive cherry and wild strawberries aromas with underlying floral notes. The palate is fresh and flavoursome with soft, juicy tannins. This is a beautiful, lighter expression of Nerello Mascalese (and various other native grapes).

    Le Grolleau 2019, Marie Thibault

    Region: VdF Loire, France

    Grape: Grolleau

    Style: Fruity and juicy red

The wine has enticing red and blackberries, cherry aromas, very clean and focused, the bright fruit acidity refreshes the palate while the round, ripe sweet red cherry notes end with light spices, Totally delicious.

    Carignan 2017, Familia Cecchin

    Region: Maipú - Mendoza

    Grape: Carignan

    Style: Ripe and elegant red

Complex aromas of black fruits like cherry, fig, and some spices. Great silky feeling on the palate. The fruits, such as raspberry and cherry, are crunchy and fresh. Some spiciness dominates in the finish, which is long and pure. An intense and fresh wine.

Aligoté "Sur le Bois" 2019, Domaine Bonnardot

    Region: Bourgogne, France

    Grape: Aligoté

    Style: Light and crisp white

On the nose, warm ripe aromatic yellow fruit, such as peach and quince with scents of camomile and cookie dough. But the taste is fresh and green, with hints of granny smith and citrus. The acids are piercing and pointy, but the full malolactic fermentation and the use of barrel ripening provide fullness and roundness.

This Aligoté comes from two plots, which have a total of 0.17 hectares. The first plot comes from the Santenay hills. The second part lies on a clay-lime underlay the appellation “Sur le Bois” Maranges.

    Au Capcèu 2017, Camin Larredya

    Region: Jurançon, France

    Grapes: Petit Manseng

Style: Sweet, Aromatic and fragrant white

An aromatic expression of ripe and exotic fruits (mandarin, pineapple, mango) as well as ripe apricots and citrus, with honey, caramel and spice in the background. Perfectly balanced between the sensation of alcohol, sweetness and freshness with intense fruit and spice flavours.

Beautiful dessert wine, that can be enjoyed with most desserts especially hot ones.
